3rd Year Ryerson BSW Student

Yasmin Yassin

My Name is Yasmin Yassin, and I am going into my third year of Social Work at Ryerson. I was born and raised in London, Ontario, and moved to Scarborough about six years ago, and then recently moved to Mississauga. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends, and I enjoy going on long hikes. A fact about me is that I have four brothers and am the only girl in my family. As a young child, I would be outdoors all the time playing soccer. That being said I would love to facilitate activities for the children to play as it gives me so much joy. As a 21 year old Somali-Canadian, I am highly motivated to help my community strive to become better. I believe every human should be treated equally and should be able to live authentically. The world we currently live in has been so divided and there is so much conflict that has been spread overtime. I believe we should live in an inclusive community with one another because together we are stronger. I look forward to joining this organization because it does so much for the children and I’d love to be a part of something so special!
