4th Year BSW student at York University
Pegah Edalati Aliabadbad
Hello, my name is Pegah, and I am a year four student at York University, completing my Bachelor of Social Work. I have an advanced college diploma in Child and Youth Care and have dedicated most of my volunteer and working hours from the past five years in the field working alongside children, youth and their families. My previous placements and work experience (Middle school and two different Residential Treatment Houses) have contributed immensely to my client-based and professional office work and etiquette. Volunteering with a non-profit organization within the last decade has also allowed me to grow as an individual and internalize deeply that young children and youth hold many latent capacities that, with the support of young and old adults, need to be developed and projected into our world.
I look forward to completing my placement at MCASS, learning from and working with such a wonderful team and client base which hold justice and equality near and dear to their hearts.
My future academic and career goals include obtaining my Masters of Social Work at York University to expand my knowledge, conduct research, and apply a critical approach to this field with an emphasis on human rights, social justice and anti-oppression. On a different note, some of my hobbies include knitting, reading and riding my bike. Again, I am extremely grateful to be here at MCASS and very excited to learn alongside everyone.
