Never Again Youth Summit
Funded by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, MCASS in partnership with the Canadian Multifaith Federation, hosted a transformative event, the Never Again Youth Summit. The summit has its foundation in the global imperative Never Again; prevention of future atrocities and genocides.
Ignited by the humanitarian crisis that is happening in Palestine and Israel, our youth-driven summit featured keynote speaker: B.H. Yael who is an Iraqi Jew, anti zionist filmmaker and producer. The summit also provided three simultaneously facilitated sessions with fantastic community activists and speakers:
- Jenna Robar, Indigenous leader
- Judy Rebick, anti-zionist and political activist
- Amira Abutaa – Palestinian community leader and mental health professional.
Our Never Again Youth Summit brought together diverse youth participants ages between 18 and 30 years old to have the opportunity to hear a little about history, personal journeys, and stories, but most importantly to share their perspectives, ideas, and perhaps their own stories.
This is just one step but every journey begins with a single step. The Never Again Youth Summit is not just an event; it’s an initiative aimed at uniting Canadian youth and young adults to discuss and address current issues related to lasting peace. We recognize the unique perspectives and insights that your members can bring to enrich these conversations.
To reach out to the greatest number of youth and participants and facilitate accessibility, the Never Again Summit was hosted both virtually and in-person.
