Who We Are

Lives Rewritten is a novel offering of wraparound programs for new Canadian children offered by MCASS, Regent Park Community Ministries and the following collaborators.

Green Thumbs Growing Kids – empowering urban children, youth, adults and families to grow and prepare fresh garden foods, to learn about nature and the environment, and foster a positive educational experience.

Mindfulness Everyday – improving the health and well-being of community members and networks supporting children and youth through tailored mindfulness programs for students, parents, educators and helping professionals in educational and community settings.

Square Circle – delivering a new way of engaging, educating and empowering youth; to strengthen local communities; foster more confident, resilient and courageous young leaders through the use of Social Circus and creative arts.

Visions of Science Network for Learning (VoSNL) – exists to advance the educational achievement and positive development of youth for low-income and marginalized communities through meaningful engagement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)

Purpose

To provide new Canadian children with the opportunity to expand their horizons by gaining knowledge, learning new skills, making new friends, and working together as teams. Programs currently offered include:

  • Gardening, food literacy, and the environment
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • Social Circus (juggling, creative arts)
  • Mindfulness
