Hi, My name is Hyoim Moon. I am a third-year student at Toronto Metropolitan University. I am on my track of completing a BScN Nursing program to become a registered nurse. I was born in South Korea and immigrated from my home country to Canada about four years ago. I have clinical experiences as a nursing student at Sunnybrook RCC, Humber River Hospital Nephrology and Cardiology Unit which had a group of diverse immigrant patient populations.

As a part of an immigrant and an Asian minority group, I am aware of challenges often faced by the majority of immigrant populations and how migration process can influence physical and psychosocial well-being of newcomers. I am passionate to promote physical, mental, and spiritual health of immigrants and challenge social oppressions which hinders immigrant populations from being empowered and flourishing in their settlement processes.
