SENIOR PROGRAM LEADER
Farkhunda Muhtaj is a highly motivated and skilled high-performance athlete that is dedicated to using sport as a tool to empower and maximize the experience of underprivileged, refugee, and newcomer youth. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences as well as a Bachelor of Education degree at York University.
Farkhunda captained the varsity women’s soccer team at York University and has received academic and athletic honours/ She is also an active member of the Afghanistan women’s national soccer team and competes in League 1 Ontario for Vaughan Azzurri.
In addition to playing, she has coached high-performance OPDL and is National C License trained. She will also be joining the York University coaching staff in the following season. Through this position, she hopes to develop culturally relevant and responsive soccer programming for newcomer and refugee youth.
