Hello, my name is Ashontée Frederick-Pinnock, I am currently a third-year Honour Social Work student at York University and will be completing a summer position here at the Muslim Children’s Aid and support Services (MCASS) for the months of June & July!
I have a passion for working with children and youth and as a black women with lived experiences, I know the importance of family structures on the development of a young child and want to actively work to make a positive change and impact within the community.
I come from a diploma in Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counselling/Advocacy at George Brown College, experience working with children, youths, and adolescences with visible and non-visible disabilities, facilitating support group, delivering presentations on various types of violence, and crisis line work.
I strive to educate, be educated, challenge the systems of oppression, and eliminate barriers for families or individuals.
