Aminah Ahmed
Aminah Ahmed is passionate about youth and community engagement. She has volunteered with various organizations, such as MyVoice Canada, to elevate youth voices and create initiatives to benefit the community. She has years of experience in both front-line work and research. Through her work at Peel Children’s Centre, she helped to develop their Peer Support Training and Youth Peer Support initiative. Both initiatives helped create avenues for youth to seek mental health support from their peers. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. Her education has aided her work in research on trauma and the importance of cultural sensitivity in mental health care. Aminah is passionate about volunteering, giving back to her community and challenging the stigma around mental illness.
In her free time, she loves being outdoors and exploring new hiking trials in her area. She also loves to cook and bake and is always trying out new recipes.
